ABSTRACT Nababan, Dian Elizabeth Octavia, Conversational Implicatures in Deddy Corbuzier’s Podcast “Prabowo Perdana Bicara”. A thesis. Department of English Language and Literature. Faculty of Letters. Universitas Methodist Indonesia. Medan. 2024. This thesis explains about conversational implicatures in Deddy Corbuzier’s Podcast “Prabowo Perdana Bicara”. The objectives of the study are to identify what types of conversational implicatures and to find out the meaning of conversational implicatures in Deddy Corbuzier’s Podcast “Prabowo Perdana Bicara” on the theory of Grice (1989) & Leech (1981). This podcast was released on 13 June 2021. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The result of this study there are two types of conversational implicatures, namely generalized conversational implicatures and particularized conversational implicatures, the other results is there are seven types of meaning, namely conceptual meaning, connotative meaning, social meaning, affective meaning, reflected meaning, collocative meaning and thematic meaning. In this study, the writer found 9 conversational sentences belong to the type of generalized conversational implicatures and 31 conversational sentences are the type of particularized conversational implicatures, 27 conceptual meaning, 5 connotative meaning, 4 social meaning, 1 affective meaning, 7 reflected meaning, 11 collocative meaning and 9 thematic meaning.
