ABSTRACT Agnes, Rainy Agria. Moral Values in Selena Gomez’s Song Lyrics in Her Album Entitled “Rare” Album. A Thesis. Department of English Language and Literature. Fakultas Sastra. Universitas Methodist Indonesia. Medan. 2024 This aims of the study are describes of moral values in Selena Gomez song lyrics in her entitled “Rare” album. Rare album offers a unique perspective on how one faces life's challenges and finds strength in the midst of uncertainty. The study used qualitative descriptive methods, and the data of study identified and categorized based on types and characteristics of moral values in song lyrics. The source data for this study from song lyrics in album Rare, released in 2020. The songs are Rare, Dance Again. Look at Her Now, Lose You to Love Me, Ring, Vulnerable, People You Know, Let Me Get Me, Crowded Room, Kinda Crazy, Fun, Cut You Off, and A Sweeter Place. The research findings 6 types of moral values include courage, truthfulness, perseverance, empathy, cooperation, and love and affection.
