ABSTRACT
One of the academic activities that exist in schools in general every time before a new
school year is, of course, the process of admitting new students. So far, all data is
recorded manually and allows data to be copied by certain parties to be misused. This
is very vulnerable and makes it possible to deliberately intercept and change data to
the detriment of the data owner. For this reason, we need a system that has a level of
security that can guarantee that efforts that can be made to maintain the security and
confidentiality of data are to encrypt the original data and insert data into a medium
by applying cryptography which converts the original data into unicode form with
certain rules To facilitate the registration process and secure the data of students who
will register, a new admissions application system is needed that uses layered data
security techniques by combining symmetric cryptographic algorithms with the
Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) Algorithm and the One Time Pad (OTP)
Algorithm. This system is built on a web basis, with the PHP programming language
and MySQL as the database. From the results of the combination of algorithms, it has
resulted in layered data security which is able to restore the ciphertext into the
original text data as a whole and is able to convert the original data into ciphertext.
