This studydiscusses Conversational Implicatures in The Lion King movie script.The objectives of this study are to investigate the types of conversational implicatures and to find out the types of cooperative principlesin The Lion King movie script. The writer uses the descriptive qualitative method.The data of this study arethe utterances from the movie script. The writer applies Grice’s theory to analyze this study. The findings of this study show that there are two types of conversational implicatures and four types of maxims of cooperative principles. Those types are generalized conversationalimplicatures and particularized conversational implicature, and the types of cooperative principles are maxim of quantity, maxim of quality, maxim of relation, and maxim of manner. The writer finds 46 data included conversational implicatures, 37 data included generalized conversational implicatureand 9 data about particularized conversational implicature. There are also 46 data that included maxims of cooperative principles, 21 data included maxim of quantity, 10 data maxim of quality, 9 data maxim of relation, and 6 data maxim of manner.
